I came to Chiang Dao because a friend built a house here to live in during their retirement, and also to welcome friends who visit often. Upon arriving in Chiang Dao, I was impressed by Doi Luang Chiang Dao mountain; you can see it from almost anywhere in the city. There are also many tourist attractions, especially temples and monasteries, clearly showing the community's strong faith in Buddhism and their continued adherence to traditional customs. There are both traditional and Western restaurants that have settled seamlessly into the community, and many new cafes are opening up, almost all of which highlight Doi Luang Chiang Dao as a key attraction, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy the view while dining and drinking. It's a small but warm town, perfect for a relaxing, unhurried vacation.

Glamping at its finest. A peaceful and beautiful resort. You'll instantly feel like you're in a jungle.
I recommend heading up the mountain before it gets dark. Once you reach the top, you'll see a view like this and watch the sunrise. The weather is amazing; it's like being surrounded by a huge sea of fog. The orange light makes for great photos. If you like the atmosphere in the picture, we went in early February, and the weather was still great. When we came down, frost was slowly falling – it was truly healing. I highly recommend it.
Quiet, nice atmosphere.

The view at the highest point of the mountain was spectacular. Quite a long and tiring hike for a newbie like me but definitely worth the efforts. I read many reviews to be prepared but one thing nobody mentioned is there’s sooo many bees in the forest. If you’re a bee phobia, keep that in mind (nobody in my group got stung tho 😬).

Hiking are opened during Nov-Jan and you’ll need a booking in advance to hike here. (This year booking was opened for only a week during October)

Amazingly beautiful. The trek was easily to walk. It took me 4 hours to get to the camp. And another 3 hours to walk back. I would recommend you to go around November-February.
It is worth to try to reach. It is 1,100 m above the sea level. We took 4 hours to reach the camping area and another 30 mins to reach the top of the mountain. You will have chance to see the foggy cloud below the top that is really magnificant. But we are unlucky ‘cuz it was raining whole 3 days and we stayed inside that fog. It really hard to start from Pangwao side compared with another because of the steepness and slippery clay in some parts. You should bring your own trekking ploes and local people to guide you if you are foreigner because all of the signs are Thai.
Good luck!
Come and see by yourself.
Here is so awesome for the panoramic scene.
